User Experience
The default client installation provides 2 basic desktop views:
"Basic Setup" and "Network Operations Center". These desktops
provide a starting point for users to create their own personal desktop
configuration. With these initial views the most commonly used
panels are visible by default, while less commonly used functions
are obscured.
The screen icon
signifies
system default desktop configurations, while the user icon
is displays next to user defined desktops. These menu items are automatically created
anytime a user decides to save their current desktop layout.
Changing your system layout is as easy as dragging and dropping panels. Panel sizes, location, and visibility attributes are all stored as part of a desktop layout. Also, with the addition of floatable panels (panels can be dragged off the main application and made into their own floating panels), moving panels is easy.
Floating windows can easily be dismissed by simply clicking the "X" in the top right corner. To retrieve a dockable frame, there is a master list in an easily accessible toolbar drop down button. And of course, you can always select one of your previously saved desktops to restore the desktop to the way you want.
In addition to dockable frames, major system tabs are also configurable. You may choose the order you like, split them, or not display them at all. Any custom tab arrangements may be saved as well.
